Farmers Deserve a Legislated Right to Farm

There are many threats to farmers rights: be it from mining, property development, nuisance lawsuits and noise complaints from neighbouring non-farming properties. In many of these cases, the law favours the farmer’s opponent, even if the farm was there first.

This situation not only hurts farmers and Australia’s agricultural industry, but continually reduces the amount of prime agricultural land available.

Standing Up for Farmers Rights

Our plan is to do what has been done in overseas jurisdictions: pass right to farm legislation to preserve the viability of agriculture, protect farmers, and ensure that agriculture can work side by side with other economic activities.

We want to keep seeing farmers do what they do best: farming the best quality produce and livestock from our prime agricultural land.
