MEDIA RELEASE: REAL PEOPLE. REAL EXPERIENCE. SFF BUILDS ITS 2027 UPPER HOUSE TEAM
The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party has strengthened its NSW Legislative Council team for the 2027 State Election, with Charlie de Villiers and Josh Pracy registering alongside sitting MLC Mark Banasiak.
The additions put two people with direct, practical experience of the communities they represent onto the SFF Upper House ticket.
Josh Pracy operates UsedGuns.com.au, one of Australia’s leading online firearms marketplaces, and has become a strong voice for licensed firearms owners and the shooting industry.
Charlie de Villiers is President of the Underwater Skindivers and Fishermen’s Association (USFA) and has been at the forefront of representing recreational fishers and spearfishers on access, fishing restrictions and fisheries policy.
SFF Leader Robert Borsak MLC said the additions reflected what the party had always stood for.
“We don’t go looking for career politicians. We look for people who actually come from the communities we represent. “
“Josh knows the firearms industry because he lives and works in it. Charlie knows fishing because he has spent years representing fishers and fighting for their access.”
“Josh and Charlie represent a new generation stepping forward to fight for these freedoms. That is enormously important for the future of our party and our movement.”
The announcement comes as firearms policy becomes an increasingly prominent issue ahead of the March 2027 election.
SFF MLC Mark Banasiak said having Pracy and de Villiers alongside him would significantly strengthen the party’s Upper House team. “I couldn’t be happier to have Josh and Charlie putting their hands up.”
“Parliament needs more people who understand the consequences of legislation before governments impose it on everyone else. Charlie and Josh have already been doing the work, representing people, leading organisations and fighting the battles.”
“We have a serious fight ahead of us in 2027, and I’m proud to have people like Josh and Charlie joining that fight as we work to Reclaim Freedom.”
Mr Borsak said the party would continue building a ticket grounded in the communities represented in its name.
“Shooters. Fishers. Farmers. They aren’t just words on our logo. They are the people this party was created to represent. Our 2027 team will reflect that.”
