Hazzard: Give Temora Hospital the Same 100% Guarantee You Gave to Orange
Minister Hazzard must give a "100% guarantee" for services at Temora Hospital, just like he did for Orange Hospital.
Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party MLC Robert Borsak called on Health Minister Brad Hazzard to provide the same “100% guarantee” for Temora Hospital’s obstetric theatre as he gave for Orange Hospital’s carpark.
“Health Minister Brad Hazzard must give Temora the same 100% guarantee for their obstetric theatre as he gave for Orange Hospital’s car park,” Mr Borsak said.
“All it seems to take to get Minister Hazzard to stand up for a rural health service is the threat of an electoral challenge from the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party.
“It’s obvious that this closure at Temora Hospital was designed to be quietly swept under the carpet, but we won’t let that happen.”
Orange Hospital was promised a $1 million car park in the Orange by-election and in response to a question in Parliament from Orange MP Philip Donato on March he have a “100% guarantee” that the project would be delivered.
“With a $4.5 billion budget surplus, this Government can easily afford to keep Temora Hospital’s obstetric theatre open.
“Whether it’s Orange or Cootamundra, when the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party calls-out the Government on an issue, they act.
“Since this was happening under the National Party’s watch, it clearly shows that they are either incapable or unwilling to stand up for their community against the Liberal Party.
“Cootamundra deserves better.”
The Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party will announce their candidate for the Cootamundra by-election in the coming weeks.
Mr Borsak has written to the Minister for Health Brad Hazzard and Murrumbidgee Local Health District CEO Jill Ludford, requesting urgent intervention on this matter.
