As is always their way, the NSW Firearms Registry dropped the discriminatory and intrusive Health Risk Assessment on firearms owners just before Christmas in their usual duplicitous and underhanded method. In this, the 30^th year of the Shooters Fishers & Farmers Party, Robert and Mark were on the offensive from the beginning of the 2025 sitting year, embarrassing the government and calling out the FAR with a series of pointed questions and forcing NSW Police to remove the most offensive parts of the assessment.

Here is what our members have been up to recently in NSW Parliament.

During the previous week of Parliament, Robert focused on highlighting the importance of hunting in conservation, calling out fake conservationists, and slamming the Greens for their neo-Marxist, anti-Indigenous approach. Meanwhile, Mark kept up the fight against landholders being steamrolled for reckless renewable projects and held the government accountable on water management.

Over the past few weeks, Robert and Mark, through Budget Estimates, had the opportunity to delve into the operations of state government departments. For some ministers, it revealed progress in the right direction. For others, it raised questions that demanded further explanation, highlighting just how crucial the Budget Estimates process is in the NSW Legislative Council.
