Sue Gilroy Announced As SFF Candidate For Upper Hunter By-Election

“Our Community Needs Leaders Not Pretenders” – Sue Gilroy Stands for Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party in Upper Hunter

Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party Leader Robert Borsak MLC announced the party’s candidate for the Upper Hunter by-election, Sue Gilroy, in Singleton today.

Ms. Gilroy is the President of the Singleton Business Chamber, and has worked in mining, nursing and mentoring throughout her career.

“Our community needs leaders not pretenders. Unfortunately, we’ve been a safe seat for too long and that means we’ve been taken for granted,” Ms. Gilroy said.

“I’m a businesswomen, a registered nurse, I’ve worked in mining and I grew up on a farm. I’ve never lived in a city in my life. I dare say few people would be able to say that in NSW Parliament.

“The Upper Hunter is unique. It’s a great place to live – but we’re not getting our fair share. We’re constantly told how we are the engine room of the state because of our booming mining and agricultural industries – but we’ve been short changed and overlooked on so many things.

“Whether it’s on resources for regions funding, lack of hospital services, roads that haven’t been fixed in decades, or the constant attacks on coal and farming – enough is enough.

“I wish all the other candidates the best of luck. It’s going to be a tough race. Finally, our region is going to get the attention it deserves.”
